Hello, I'm Gizmo. Pleased to meet you.
Hello, my name is Gizmo and I’m a Keeshond. I came to live with my new family on 30th September, 2009, when I was about six months old. I think I am a cute little guy(well that’s what my family keeps telling me anyway), but you can judge for yourself.
My family had another Keeshond before me. His name was Mister and he died on the 20th October 2008, on his favourite person’s birthday. It was very sad, I’ve been told. Since then, my family has been looking for another Keeshond because they fell in love with my breed. I’m glad they did because we Keeshonden are the cutest little doggies ever.
I was lucky enough to find them(well I guess they found me, really) and I want to share lots of dog and puppy care tips with you. I also want to tell you as much as I can about Keeshond dogs, as we are a lovely breed of dog.
A Little About My Family
My mum has had dogs most of her life and had trained many other dogs before me. Her first dog was a Kelpie cross named Benn. She got him in 1979 when she was sixteen years old and took him to obedience training for many years. Benn attained the title of CD(Companion Dog) and was a proud member of the South Australian Obedience Dog Club demonstration team.
Her next dog, Heidi, was a German Shepherd and they went to the The German Shepherd Dog Club of South Australia, for about eight months until Mum became pregnant with her first child. Over the next few years Mum spent most of her time raising her six children, along with numerous puppies, horses and other pets.
I share my home with Mum, four kids a rabbit and Beau(I’ll show you pictures of him too), who is a Border Collie cross. He is a very nice old man(he’s a dog really but my family thinks us dogs are people too), who is 12 in human years which is about 80 something in doggie years. He went to obedience training at the Flagstaff Hill Obedience Club, which was run by Des Coyles who was well known for his involvement with the Pal(Pedigree) Superdogs team.
I hope you enjoy reading about me and the many things I plan on sharing with you. I will tell you all about my life growing up and lots of other useful information about dogs, Keeshonds and other pets.

P.S. If you would like to send me an email my address is gizmo @ gizmothekeeshond.com. Don’t forget to take out the spaces. I had to put them in to stop those nasty spambots.
